The Shanghai Cricket Club released the 2013 touring schedule yesterday. The SCC will tour Beijing to play for the China Cup, host Hong Kong CC for the annual Bohkara Bell Memorial Interport series, tour Hong Kong to compete in the Breezer Challenge with Lamma CC, and host Kowloon Cricket Club in what is hoped will become a new annual fixture on the SCC schedule.
“The SCC is currently reestablishing links with East and Southeast Asai’s preeminent and longest established clubs,” said Tours and Events Manager John L’Epagional. “Our goal is to participate in matches with and regain acceptance among the highest quality cricket entities in this part of the world.”
“We look forward to a full season of competitive cricket. Our established and newly forming relationships with other clubs in the region is important to the continued growth of the club,” said SCC Club Captain Sanjay Anugula.
Several other tours are still in the planning stages and could not yet be confirmed including a tour to Southeast Asia. The club has also booked a tour in play the Singapore Cricket Club in Singapore in early 2014.
